going green: why mountainwood homes?

Today is Earth Day!  In honor of the annual holiday, events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. In our industry, the term “green building” comes to mind. The team at Mountainwood Homes is knowledgeable about sustainable practices and eco-friendly building. With thousands of home products and new innovations, your home can now function more efficiently than ever.

We have also  been lucky enough to work with some amazing clients that are cautious of their footprint on the planet and come to us to help make their homes more efficient. Both personally and professionally, we have enjoyed working with clients that have made environmentally-conscious choices in their new homes and remodeling projects.

Here are some ‘green’ things we do at Mountainwood Homes on a daily basis:

We are a full service design/build team.
We do it all. From creating the design, inspiring your design selections, to managing the trade partners and keeping the project on schedule, you can be confident your project is good hands.  Whether you start with us or bring in your own architect and designer, we can take care of you from start to finish.

Our team is top-notch.
With over 25 years of experience, our team has built and remodeled more homes than we can count. We also have three Certified Master Builders on our team. Our experienced network of trade partners are the best in their respected fields.

We are experienced in all aspects of green building.
We are a Certified Sustainable Homes Professional, lead-based paint renovation contractor, and Earth Advantage Institute Builder. We have the technical expertise to design and build high performance homes.

We are respectful of your home.
Before we start on your project, we protect your floors with heavy-duty Ram board, zip walls to prevent dust, vacuum daily and provide a portable restroom for construction worker use.

We recycle!
Mountainwood Homes hauls and properly disposes construction debris from the jobsite. We also recycle possible building materials at Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, which provides environmentally and socially-responsible ways to keep good, reusable materials out of landfills.

We build award-winning homes.
We built the first 100% FSC Certified home in the US in Beaver Creek, Oregon. This home is also the 1st Place Winner of the 2012 HBA Building Excellence Award for Single Family Home Detached $350-$500K.

We build clients for life.
Everyone has a go-to doctor, accountant and lawyer. We’d like to be your builder for life. Our business philosophy is, “What’s best for the client?” Our repeat and referral clients are the best compliments we can receive.
