Our trade partner The Fixture Gallery/Consolidated Supply invited us as their high-volume customer to the Delta/Brizo “National Integrated Customer Event” May 16-18 at Delta’s headquarters in Carmel, Indiana.
Delta hosted their group of customers –200 designers, builders, plumbing and plumbing showroom representatives – for two days of workshops to learn about new products from the Brizo and Delta brand.
Mountainwood designers Heather Wood and Sierra Lemieux attended and met the designers and engineers that create the faucets and shower systems we use in many of our projects. The Delta designers presented the prototypes that will be coming out in the next two years and solicited our feedback on the design, function and if we think it will sell in our market.
We were very impressed by the entire company and their ability to be innovative. “They really listen to our feedback since we are on the front line selling the products,” said Lemieux, who experienced this first hand when the faucets she judged two years ago at this event made it to the market.
Delta has many exciting products in the works; Not only hands free but faucets that can turn on and off by voice recognition. The faucet can even measure one-cup full on command; This feature was well-received with a huge round of applause.
We previewed the new technology for a reduced-splash kitchen faucet called “SheildSpray” that contains the mess and splatter through a concentrated jet of water.
Popular finishes are Matte Black mixed with Luxe Gold for a contemporary, industrial look.
Judd, the head of design, encourages his team to travel worldwide to find inspiration. Whether it’s fashion, architecture, or furniture, they are all sources that help stir the creative juices.
“It was fun to hear how the Virage Faucet in the Brizo line, one of my personal favorites, was inspired by a beautiful, old world, wrought iron gate with twists and turns that he saw in an alley way,” said Heather Wood.
Our team had a great trip visiting Delta headquarters and everyone walked away feeling impressed and inspired by such a great company who pushes innovation and stands behind their products.
