CENTRAL VISION
The layout on this 1973 home was very compartmentalized. The living room and kitchen were divided by a large brick fireplace which made the room a challenge. The overall goal of this remodeled space was to integrate the kitchen to the rest of the home for better flow so the empty nester homeowner could entertain with ease and upgrade to commercial appliances.
Challenges
• Tying in new kitchen design with adjacent family room
• Transforming a traditional home with a fresh, updated look
• Providing island barstool seating that took advantage of the backyard views
Solutions
- Refinished hardwood floors throughout the home
- Removed dated wainscoting and retextured all the walls
- Added new skylights above the oversized island provide more natural light and help combat the home’s low, 8-foot, ceilings
- Upgraded the appliance package to a commercial-grade kitchen with Sub-Zero Refrigerator

“Mountainwood Homes did an amazing job! I cannot say enough good things. From the top down, they are a great group of people, and I am sure I will be referring many clients to them in the future. Thanks again for the great job!”
