According to the NAHB’s Remodeling Market Index survey for the 1st quarter of 2014, the simple “desire to better/newer amenities” came in at the number one reason why customers choose to remodel their homes.
And a “Desire for better/newer amenities” beat out the second place “need to repair/replace old components” by just one tenth of a point.
