Community Involvement

We are building community ties.

Mountainwood Homes is committed to being a community builder and utilizing the talents of our team and network of trade partners to leave positive, lasting contributions to the neighborhoods where we live and work.

Since we started in 2008, we’ve played an active role in helping people within the community in various ways.

Home Building Association of Greater Portland

Actively involved through councils and committees:

Home Building Foundation

  • Proudly named Company of the Year in 2022

Builder Captain, Good Neighbor Center
Tigard, Oregon
Completed: June 2017

This renovation project included an expansion of educational programs for children of homeless families in the shelter. The addition added dedicated space for Homework Club, private tutoring, preschool programming, and storage for program needs. This expansion provided them with more space in which to operate a long-existing and critically important program for homeless children and was a great partnership between non-profits, the building community, and the City of Tigard.

Habitat for Humanity

  • Board President, Willamette West Habitat for Humanity, 2015 – 2016
  • Member Board of Directors, Willamette West Habitat for Humanity, 2009 – 2016
  • 2015 Brauner Award recipient
  • Project Leader, 2014 Home Builders Blitz, Hillsboro, Oregon
  • Project Leader, 2012 Home Builders Blitz, Beaverton, Oregon

We organized a team of subcontractors and suppliers to complete a home in five days to deliver the house at no cost to Habitat.

“It has always been a priority to give back to the communities in which we work, and it feels really good to be part of the team providing a family their new home,” said Robert Wood.

“It was a chance to push ourselves and see what we can accomplish if we put our mind to it. I knew with Robert as project leader we were in good hands,” said Mike Wille, construction manager for the affiliate.

We also partner with Habitat for Humanity ReStore to recycle materials and appliances from remodeling projects.
