About

Heather fell in love with homes when she was six while her father, who worked in the home building and real estate business, took the family on a model home tour. The specific wallpaper and staging left a lasting impression on her. The idea of taking something ordinary and turning it into something beautiful has been a theme throughout her life.

Heather has had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. Her real estate and hotel management background led her to further her creative talents and start her own interior decorating company in 1996. Various Portland and Vancouver-area homebuilders hired her to design their model homes and create their spec packages.

In 1999, she was hired as the Design Center Manager for a luxury home builder and promoted to Director of Design and Merchandising. Over eight years, she designed 30 high-end model homes from Vancouver, Washington, to Central Oregon. Heather’s vision elevated the company to national notoriety by creating award-winning Street of Dreams homes, golf course communities, and real estate sales offices. The company’s design center was named the best in the country. Then, Heather started Meadowood Design Group, worked with developers on multi-family residential projects and clubhouses, and worked directly with homeowners to bring their vision to life.

She encouraged Robert to start Mountainwood Homes in 2008; they’ve been busy ever since. Heather brings her nearly 30 years of experience in the home building, design, and remodeling industry to the team. Her role allows her to coach the design team and work directly with clients. Heather loves process and pushing the envelope to get the best results. She believes there’s always room to improve. She loves working alongside clients to transform their environment into something beautiful.

In her spare time, she loves cooking and entertaining –especially the planning and theatrics of the event and dreams of opening a restaurant. One of her favorite things is to open the fridge and take ingredients you wouldn’t think would go together and create a delicious outcome. The same goes for design.
