Kim Hancock

Kim Hancock is a helper at heart and a steady, resourceful presence at Mountainwood Homes. Whether she’s supporting an employee or navigating a permit, she brings patience, organization, and a dependable, can-do approach to her work.

In permitting, Kim works with Project Developers early to research feasibility and permit requirements, helping reduce surprises later on. Her detail-oriented approach is especially important as she prepares paperwork, coordinates with the appropriate jurisdiction, tracks progress, and gets approved plans into the hands of the project team.

Kim likes to describe permitting as a puzzle. Every jurisdiction does things a little differently, and getting all the pieces in place is one of the things she finds most satisfying about the role.

That same desire to help others carries into HR, where Kim oversees recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits, and employee support. Her goal is simple: make sure employees have what they need to do their best work.

Helping people has been a common thread throughout Kim’s life. She worked at a daycare in high school, raised four children, and earned a degree in Family Life from BYU, completing it online in 2020 more than 20 years after first starting college.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband of more than 24 years and their four kids. The couple met in college and moved to Oregon in 2004 when her husband accepted a job with Intel. Kim enjoys experimenting with new recipes, baking cookies, painting watercolor landscapes, doing puzzles, listening to audiobooks while driving her kids around, volunteering with teenagers at church, and getting away to the Oregon Coast. Her family also owns more than 200 board games and can often be found gathered around one a few times a week.
