Meet Mountainwood’s Newest Designers

When we were interviewing designers for our open position, our lead designer couldn’t decide which one to hire since she loved both applicants, so we brought them both on board! While they’re new to us, Vicki Enger and Trish Patton bring their talent and diverse design industry experience to our team.

About Vicki Enger

I was born in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. After six years in design and sales with Dayton’s Design Studio, I decided to pursue one of my dreams, to own my own business. I started Interior Perspective, Inc., a full-service design firm, in Minneapolis. As my business and knowledge grew, I took on the challenge of new home construction and remodeling. I loved it! It was exciting working with architects, builders and project managers!

In 2003, I made the big move out west to the San Francisco Bay area. I worked with design studios in Los Altos and Los Gatos. The pull (kids) to move north was strong. So, in 2010, I made another big move.

With the economy still struggling, I was thankful Parker Furniture made room for me. I was part of the design team and also managed the Thomasville store until earlier this year.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, read recipes and bake. Interior design has been my passion since I was a child. From drawing detailed floorplans on my Etch-a-Sketch to today solving my client’s challenging projects, I like all the details that play a part in the big picture.

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself? I love landscape design and am an avid gardener

About Trish Patton

I was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Lake Oswego and went to McNary High School in Salem. I graduated from University of Oregon in Interior Architecture (before CAD), and everything at that time was hand drawn. I’m an avid golfer and gardener and love Duck football!

I have lived and raised 3 kids (two sons and a daughter who are now 29, 31 and 40) in a 1910 Portland Bungalow in the Hollywood district in Northeast Portland for 27 years.

My career spans over 35 years to include design, the hotel/hospitality and food and beverage industry. Back in the 80s, I bought my first business at 26 years old. It was a deli in Alameda, California called “The Lunch Box.” In addition to my walk-in business, I also provided sandwiches and snacks for the Oakland Raiders at their practice facility. My hotel career started at the front desk for the Oakland Hyatt. My journey continued back to Oregon, then Texas, then San Diego, in hotel sales and catering.

Marriage, kids and longing for Oregon led me to move back in 1989 to finally pursue interior design. In 2002 I became a certified kitchen and bath designer. After working for various employers, I began my own business in 2016. My last big project was working for Kirkland Development on the Vancouver Waterfront project as the sole interior design firm. My responsibilities included space planning, AutoCAD, and selection services for a 138-room hotel property, 4 food and beverage outlets, 40 condos and their common spaces.

I look forward to being a part of this creative team at Mountainwood, designing beautiful spaces for our clients exceeding their expectations.

Fun fact! On their first day at Mountainwood Homes, Vicki and Trish discovered that they live 15 blocks from each other in Northeast Portland.
